Present Progressive or Continuous


Verb to be

We use the verbs AM, ARE and IS next after a noun (people, animal, things, etc.) or a pronoun:




Present progressive

The present progressive is formed by combining the verb “to be” with the present participle. (The present participle is merely the “-ing” form of a verb.)
